The Family Support Team at Memorial Children’s Hospital is a group of professionals and volunteers who provide much-needed emotional, psychological, educational, and play support for patients and their siblings, extended family members, and friends.

The Judd Leighton Foundation, as a complement to Memorial’s existing Music Therapy and Child Life Service programs, provided the grant to establish and staff an Art Therapy program, to be operated by the team. The program was designed not only to provide distraction and therapeutic intervention for children in the hospital, but to provide a base from which to institute a best practice model to include the Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Child Life Services programs.
