The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association Arts-in-Education Residency Program

The Fischoff Arts-in-Education Residency Program was conceived with a goal of providing area students interested in chamber music with a unique educational opportunity- to be mentored by some of the most accomplished professional musicians in the genre. Under this program, select Fischoff Competition alumni medal-winners are invited back to South Bend to serve as instructors for 5 intense days of free workshops, master classes, and interactive concerts (including the Fischoff’s flagship Residency Stories and Music program), culminating in a free public, family concert.

The program focuses on introducing the arts and chamber music to under-served elementary through high school students from Title 1 schools which may not otherwise have access to these opportunities. Workshops and concerts are hosted by schools, community centers and libraries throughout the community.

The Fischoff submitted a grant proposal to the Foundation designed to help continue funding the program annually, rather than in alternating years. The Foundation, a previous supporter of this program that impacts 3000-4000 students annually, joined with other supporters and approved a grant request.
