Goodwill Industries of Michiana (GIM) has purchased the historic Bendix building in South Bend to develop for its Leadership Center at Bendix Campus project. The Bendix Campus will provide space for three separate endeavors- The Academy, a technical job training and educational center offering training in the automotive, welding, construction, CNC machining, sewing and digital skills fields; the Leadership Center, a state-of-the-art conference and training facility that will offer GIM programs and be available free-of-charge to local nonprofit organizations; and space for the Goodwill Ecommerce division.
Goodwill submitted a grant request to the Foundation designed to complete the Leadership Center, citing the positive impact on the community of providing a resource available to local nonprofits, and where their leaders can come together to educate, train, and support one another. The Foundation, recognizing the community need and the absence of any similar facilities available to nonprofits free-of-charge, supported their matching grant request.
