New Curriculum at LOGAN Studios (Day Services)

For more than 70 years, LOGAN has offered high quality therapy, programs, and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.  Their efforts have been instrumental in helping generations of their clients improve the quality of their lives through development of the skills necessary to succeed in social, employment, and even vocational settings.

The arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting safety precautions restricting large group gatherings, however, made it impossible to continue delivering these vital services in the traditional manner.  It became apparent that LOGAN would need to form a team to redesign their curriculum to deliver the previous large-group, center-based services to smaller groups, in their homes, LOGAN buildings, and throughout the community.

To initiate this change in curriculum development and implementation, LOGAN needed the philanthropic support to hire three new coordinators, purchase necessary equipment and supplies, and continue consulting with a fellow service provider experienced in delivering services in this manner.  The Foundation, a past supporter of LOGAN’s efforts in the community, immediately understood the unique impact Covid was having on those in need and LOGAN’s efforts to assist them, and approved a grant request.
