Miracle League Field at Normain Heights Park

The Miracle League Field at Normain Heights Park Project was developed with two objectives 1) to build northern Indiana’s first Miracle Field, giving people with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball and other sports in a safe environment, and 2) to provide one of the most inclusive public recreational spaces in the area for people of all ages and abilities. This space called for the construction of a fully-inclusive playground, splash pad, and other park amenities.

The project, a partnership of Mishawaka Parks and Recreation (MPR) and the Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Foundation (MPRF), is part of the city’s renovation plan for Normain Heights Park. The MPRF submitted a grant request to the Foundation to aid in construction of the two-phase capital project. The Foundation, a longtime supporter of local health initiatives, elected to join with other area foundations, and funded a grant.
