Mishawaka Troop Town
It’s estimated that nearly 50 veterans of our armed forces in St. Joseph County are currently living on the streets, reside in the Robert Miller Veteran Center, or are housed at the Life Treatment Center. Mishawaka Troop Town is devoted to making a difference in the lives of those who have served our country by constructing 7-10 tiny houses- transitional housing designed to help these homeless veterans get back on their feet and return to productive and meaningful lives.
MTT submitted a grant request to the Foundation to assist with the purchase of the needed property and consultant fees in preparation for a planned 2022 groundbreaking. The Foundation board granted their request, citing the economic benefits and need to support veterans in our community.
