A Rosie Place
A Rosie Place for Children (ARP) is a state-of-the-art respite facility designed for medically fragile children ages birth to 21 years. A medically fragile child typically suffers from a variety of serious medical conditions that require round-the-clock care from their parents for everyday living.
A Rosie Place is licensed as a specialty hospital, the only facility of its kind in Indiana. It offers caregivers periods of relief by providing overnight, skilled respite healthcare for their children, who come for 3-10 day “sleepovers.” These services are provided at no cost to the families.
With a clear need to expand both the number of days they are open and the volume of children they serve, ARP submitted a grant application to support the education and training of additional nurses. The Foundation board, recognizing the need for the unique services they provide our community, was pleased to approve their request.
