Learn U
Learn U is a new career discovery program available to any high school students (grades 9-12) in the South Bend- Elkhart region. During an instructional period, students will learn about regional high-wage, high-demand job opportunities, and about themselves, specifically their preferred working styles, career strengths, and business etiquette, through taking industry-leading personality assessments and exposure to expert mentoring. Together with on-site visits to diverse businesses and industries tailored to the student’s interests, made available to them through the expansive RISE network, students will be better prepared to make informed decisions when it comes to their career and future plans.
As an educational program investing in area youth, with potential future economic benefits to the community, the Learn U program is one we want to support. The Foundation was pleased to approve a grant request providing one-time startup costs. As of this writing, the two-week program was being offered during the summers of 2019 and 2020.
