Startup South Bend – Elkhart/Elevate Ventures Partnership
The Startup South Bend – Elkhart (SUSBE)/Elevate Ventures Partnership was founded with a mission to “Promote and foster the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the South Bend – Elkhart region by stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit and culture in our citizens, identifying and nurturing new business startups, and supporting the growth of existing high-potential businesses.” The goal of this project is to help launch 200 high-potential businesses by 2025, contributing to a broader regional goal of increasing per capita personal income to meet or exceed the national average. It is a renewal of an earlier SUSBE partnership with Elevate Ventures designed to continue the momentum in building a self-sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystem in the local community.

2019 SoGal Global Pitch Competition
Since receiving their first grant from the Foundation in 2016 and through the end of 2019, the South Bend Elkhart Regional Partnership/SUSBE, has successfully assisted in the launch of 43 high-potential startups, increased funding sources and provided access to capital to potential startups, established a mentoring network, and hosted events that have spurred the entrepreneurial culture in the region. The Foundation, recognizing the successes to date and eager to aid in their continued economic development activities, approved their 3 year grant request.
