Capacity Expansion & Recording Arts Initiative
Located in the heart of downtown South Bend, The Music Village (TMV) is a community arts center and school which celebrates music and cultural expressions rooted in the traditions of diverse local and global communities. Since their opening in 2012, they’ve offered impactful musical arts education and programming, including instrumental, voice, and dance instruction.
By 2024, demand for TMV services had reached and exceeded the physical capacity of their existing location. Additional studios, classrooms, program-specific areas, and office space were required to meet both current needs and projected growth.
They submitted a grant application to the Foundation for a two-year challenge gift that would allow for the acquisition and buildout of a 2500 square foot space adjacent to the existing facility. The Foundation, joining with other community donors, approved a grant request.
