Innovation Park-Judd Leighton Hall
Judd Leighton Hall at Innovation Park was conceived as a dedicated technology and entrepreneurship facility. It was to be the university’s first step in providing a site devoted to commercialize intellectual property emerging through university research, a place to demonstrate commercial viability, and a hub to spur local economic growth. A place where students, entrepreneurs and inventors could exchange ideas with mentors, developers and investors.
Groundbreaking
Situated on a 12 acre site across from the main campus, the three-story, 55,000 square foot structure would contain a full complement of incubation facilities, laboratories, collaborative areas and conference rooms, and private offices, everything needed for long-term success. With both educational and economic development components to the proposal, along with long-term sustainability promised by the university’s involvement, the Foundation approved a grant for Judd Leighton Hall at Innovation Park.
