Dave’s House Capital Improvement Project
Dave’s House is a multi-use facility with a rich history at Camp Eberhart. Built in 1932, it was named in memory of camper David Warner Jr. who tragically passed away at the camp during the summer of 1931. Thousands of campers in the 92 years since have created lifelong memories in this building, which hosts a variety of programs, and, on rainy days, indoor activities for up to 80 campers.

Thousands of campers in the 92 years since have created lifelong memories in this building, which hosts a variety of programs, and, on rainy days, indoor activities for up to 80 campers.
A master facilities maintenance plan has identified the need for a complete renovation of the building. The project will include repair of the fireplace, walls and foundation, replacement of the roof, windows and doors, and stabilization of the Corey Lake shoreline. Changes in building codes over the years would not allow for a rebuild on the existing footprint, so preservation of the current building is essential.
The YMCA submitted a grant request asking the Foundation to assist in the renovations. The Foundation, citing the educational benefits provided to the community for nearly a century, approved a request.
